The market is flooded with messaging, image and video sharing apps and we’re totally obsessed with them. But why shouldn’t we? They’ve allowed us to interact with the world in the best way possible. They let you keep your friends close and your family even closer. If a video message can bring back smile on the face of your son who’s missing his father, why wouldn’t you! The world has become so small that sometimes it feels as if we’re all living in the same building on different floors. But however good these social services are, there is always room for improvement. For example, there are feelings which can’t be expressed “literally” and must be told right away. But you need something to back you up and a video would be too much distracting as a choice. So what options do you have left? Sound and image; not the combination you’d go with, right! Pingz’s here to change that thinking!
Pingz is the latest iOS app that has been developed by Jigsaw Informatics. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 7.0 or any later version of the OS. This app has also been optimized for iPhone 5 as well.
Pingz allows users to create and share personalized video messages on a very short-notice. But they are not regular videos. In fact, they’re made out of your selected images and your voice. If it’s a love song that you want to sing for your girlfriend, then you can choose some of your memorable pictures together and swipe through them while you record the video. So the video will show the images with you singing in the background. But there’s more to that! While swiping through the images, you can even zoom-in or use live pointers to mark anything. This is a very handy tool in case of group pictures or presentations. So if you want to show a property or flat to a client, just take 2-3 photos and you can narrate the details with proper tools showing each and every aspect of the property. It saves you from recording a video and also it’s difficult to record and narrate at the same time.
If you’re recording a say 30 second video, then it won’t take you longer than a minute from scratch to completing it. All you need is some pictures which you can click or pick from your camera roll. Then as the recording goes on, you can simply tap to zoom-in and use live pointers for further attention. When the message is recorded, you can share it via text message or Email or other social networks. So you see, how simple it is!

Overall, I’d say that Pingz is a great social messaging app with a new feature on the table. So if you want to record a quick video message, go for Pingz! It’s available for free in the App Store. However, you can record only up to 30-second videos with 3 images only. With in-app purchases, you can extend it to 90-second recording with 9 images and no watermarks. Choice is yours!
Pros: easy to use; record quick video messages; personalize easily with ZAP and live pointers; share via email, text messages or social networks; free.
Cons: none.
